Relaxing weekend

I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy in the lab, and when I'm not there I'm trying to enjoy my 'summer' time off before I start teaching next week. Lab has been fine except, for this new student who is a guest for 10 weeks. He is driving me batty. He is my responsibility because my lab mate is leaving soon, so I am stuck with this kid all day long. He alternates from acting like a little kid, "I have to pee pee" (in a high voice no less) to repeating back what I tell him, like he thought of it himself. Or telling me how hard a job I gave him, cleaning slides is not hard, it may be tedious, but it is not difficult (plus he watched a movie on his lap top at the same time)! Yesterday he asked me if he could wear a surgery mask on his walk home to avoid the pollen, I said sure but I mostly only saw people trying to avoid SARS wearing one outside! He is a strange one for sure, 9 more weeks... 9 more weeks.

Last weekend I did get out of my little city, Yay! It was great, we went to visit a friend in Kansas City and did some window shopping on the plaza, eating outside and sitting by the pool. It was fantatstic to be outside and just enjoy my friends company and the sunshine! We watched a lot of Sex and the City until 4 am and Eman just slept on the floor content to be there but zoned out for the girl talk. :) A very patient man for sure!
