slow going
My data collection is going very SLOWLY so it is discouraging! But today I had a little bit of luck w/ this second set-up I've been working on so hopefully that will begin to work and I can get back on track. I had to give up the first set-up I worked so hard on to share w/ my fellow student, meanwhile I get to work all the kinks out of the new get up. So basically all last week I didn't get real data collected.
I also heard back about the paper I re-submitted and now two reviewers have few to zero minor changes. However, reviewer #3 has major complaints, most of them I can't fix without re-running the entire experiment with entire new groups of animals. Most of his requests are good ideas for future projects but would literally be an entire new project and are not addressing the questions we are addressing in this study. So I'm hoping that with 2/3 saying positive things it will get accepted this go around. I'm very burnt out on this particular paper though and don't want to keep re-reading it.

I'm surprised the editor didn't specify how much of reviewer 3's comments you have to address. Or, at least give some direction.

So far I have rarely heard from editors. Oddly, today I went to a panel discussion headed by three editors and they said they send their own letters and give clues to authors as to what to attend to. That hasn't happened so far with my papers so I guess I'm submitting to journals where the editors are not that helpful. But that would be really nice if they did do that.
