angry at myself
So on Tuesday E used some of his flex hours to stay home in the morning because of the snow and cold. As I drove him to work I got pulled over! I have never been pulled over and didn't know why I had been as I was not speeding or anything. Apparently I forgot to renew my car registration. The grace period had ended January 2nd. I knew I had gone online to try and do it but it the site gave me issues, but there was no record for that so the cop didn't care. I'm guessing when I was super busy before my conferences, it was one extra thing to do so I decided to deal with it later but then just forgot about it. The cop could of given me a warning (I went to get the tags that day) but he instead he gave me $100.00 ticket! It was especially annoying because I drive by that cop EVERYDAY. It a stretch of a 'town' that is about 1 mile big that is completely surrounded by our larger city. They have two cops and they sit on that road everyday to try and write tickets. If he would of pulled me over a week or so earlier I still would of been ok. Bleh! I know it was my responsibility to get the tags but was the ticket really necessary? He could of just asked me to be sure to get them. I mean I have zero record, I've never gotten a speeding ticket, I served on a jury, I'm a good citizen in general.
For dinner on Tuesday we made pork loins covered in breadcrumbs and browned in olive oil with fresh parsley, pine nut, anchovy paste, garlic pesto on top. The topping made it taste very fresh. I think in the future you could put the pesto on chicken or baked meat too. So I'm excited we tried it.
I've been working everyday but I've been avoiding this paper I need to get started on. My plan is to force myself to work on it today, to at least get stuff organized and started. I'm also happy my car started as it is -15 today and w/ the windchill -25. Stay warm!

That is so annoying! A $100 ticket, I would have been PO'd too. Your dinner sounds like it was really yummy.

Anchovy paste? Hmmm...I'll give that a try. It sounds interesting.
That cop? Yeah, he is being a dickwad. I would not be impressed myself too.

Psych post doc-
Thanks!
Shell- I was wary of the paste but blended w/ the pine nuts, olive oil, parsley, garlic and lemon juice it was tasty. I don't think I'd spread it on a cracker or anything though :)
