Do I talk too much?

Sometimes I feel like I say the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time. Like today I am wandering down the hallway in my sweatpants and sweatshirt, (because jeans hurt too much to wear) when I run into my co-author professor and two other faculty. He asks what's up? I say not much. He says why the down face, try to smile. I say well I just had my gall bladder out so I'm tired and sore. The other faculty says wow, what a comedy killer. I think jeeez I just wanted to get this signature and I felt stupid in my sweatpants so I blurted that out, but it isn't like they all needed to know that. Blah, I tend to over share even when I'm not trying too. Of course in the big picture it doesn't really matter. I just did not want them to think "what a slob!"

Saturday night our power went out due to the ice storm. We didn't know how long it would be off but it was already getting dark so we started to light some candles and look for our flashlights. We have two, neither of them worked, even when we put new batteries in them. E was whining about not being able to see anything and our smoke alarm kept beeping because it's battery must have been out too. We ended up packing our air mattress and blankets and pillows and heading to a friend's house who still had power. He was making us dinner already so it was a great deal. We ended up having a slumber party there w/ his new quasi girlfriend and two other guys who didn't have any power. I played a lot of rounds of this game Goblet w/ one of the guys and everybody but me got plenty hammered. By 1 am I retired to the spare room but everybody was so loud I only dozed until about 2. I gave up and re-entered the living room to find E swaying around, quite beyond tipsy. He luckily passed out around 3 am in the spare twin bed so I took the air mattress. He was snoring so loud that I think I was poking him every 5 minutes. I tried to survey the living room but then one of the guys out there was snoring too. The floor was cold and one of the cats had come in and was walking around, so I climbed up onto the edge of the twin bed, and nudged and pushed on E until he turned on his side. I leaned against E trying not to fall off the bed and trying not to hurt my side. I think I went to sleep around 4 am. I woke up probably 3 or 4 times. The second cat wandered in and started jumping off the desk onto the air mattress. I was wide awake by about 10 am. I had killer cramps and my side was sore and I was very tired. I wandered out to the living room and waited for everyone to wake up. We came home and luckily the power was back on. I climbed into my own bed put the heating pad on and zonked out for about 3 hours! Yay for electricity! I don't know how the pioneers did it. Every night would have been somewhat miserable. Plus w/ walking through the snow or ice to use the bathroom? I'm so thankful I live in the moder era!
