yay for the olympics

My laptop battery died but thankfully that is the only problem and it still works plugged in. I worked at lab until about 7:30 then E and I ate outside at a new Italian place by our new place. We are still getting used to that side of town. Then we watched the Olympics opening ceremonies and I worked on my laptop. I was adding references and editing so I could watch and work at the same time. Around 1 AM I was still typing away, E had fallen asleep watching Survivor Man who was on a 'deserted' island, with lots of rats. He killed and ate a Boobie (a bird) but I thought those were protected, but maybe not. I guess I could imagine eating whatever I had too in order to survive but volunteering to not eat hardly anything for a week and then repeating the experience isn't something I think I would enjoy. Strange man.

Today we watched some Olympic badminton, heavy weight lifting, cycling and soccer. I'm at the lab now and will try to get some more writing done before I go to a 3rd annual BBQ at a friends. It was raining earlier, and looks like it will rain again so I hope it clears up by this evening. I made a fantastic fruit salad to bring, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi and grapes. Yum I love fresh fruit when it is hot out.
