getting there slowly....
Well I'm feeling a little better. I worked for long time on Saturday and Sunday on my Intro chapter. I took last night off but I've come back to lab tonight. I still have a lot of reading to do, organizing of information, and writing to make a decent intro chapter but at least I have something started. I am studying one behavior with two very different approaches, one is very general and one is very specific to a particular brain area; so my background has to cover a diverse and yet specific arena. The two approaches have different histories and views so getting through all of it and being clear about why I want to do my experiments is a little tricky. I tend to read a really good paper and want to write about that topic, then I have to pull back and say wait how does this pertain to what I am studying. How do I make it fit? I don't want to go to far off the main path, as that will get long and tedious for my committee to read through. How do you find the right balance of just enough to satisfy and cover your bases without exhausting the reader? that is something I'm trying to do.
but at least I'm making progress. Hopefully that means I will sleep tonight. The last few nights have been a lot of awake staring into the dark. Plus thunderstorms early in the morning hours.
