Big City

We went to Chicago this weekend to visit friends and had a great time! Two of our friends came with us (C & M) and stayed at our friend R's place, so E and I got to stay in his girlfriend's studio. She had recently moved in but I was really impressed by all of her decorations. She had posters, curtains, candles and it was cute. It was one large room w/ a desk, bed, small strip of tile w/ sink, mini fridge and mini stove/oven. This connected to a small alcove closet and bathroom. The building was pretty old and smelled like it but it was pretty clean overall. She also had fire escape stairs that led up to the roof with a decent view. It could have been a great setting for a short story or a book about a starving artist, or writer.

We enjoyed some of our favorite highlights, the Field Museum (which C & M hadn't ever been to), the Map room, the Hop Leaf, and the Bongo Room. I also got to see another good friend for Friday night Tapas and Sunday breakfast.

All in all a good weekend. But since most of the time I was with all guys it is nice to be home w/ just E. I got tired of C and M's assertions. They are both very opinionated and sometimes state things that are opinions as facts. A quote in the car on the way home, "Nope, that is in another common fallacy! See people think that and the name of that is "the Noble savage" and Blah blah, blah." Well, actually he used the title of that in the wrong context and it didn't fit the point we had been talking about. I couldn't believe it, he says," haven't you heard of that before?" Um yes, everyone has! I wanted to argue but I knew it wouldn't go anywhere so I just read my book and ignored it. (I knew this from arguing an entirely different point the night before!)
