this week in review
I enjoyed this week because there was no undergrads around, I did make progress on my paper and am close to final submision to an actual journal!, I still got to relax at home in the evenings and read a book for fun. Yesterday I started to organize my apartment (a never ending job as I am a clutter bug), made some homemade tomato sauce for later in the week, made southwestern stew in the crock pot, made it to the gym and watched some football w/ my guy friends. I don't really know how this happens so often but I am the lone female w/ 5 guys. Which is fine, except for when they start beltching or telling jokes on the fart level which they crack up over. (which I guess means I'm one of the guys?)
This week the older grad student that left our lab was back to visit. It was good to see her yet, strange at the same time. She was storing papers here and it was taking up 5 shelves of our 6 shelf book shelf. I said I would help her move them to a back room area, but she ended up recyling a lot of it. I wasn't trying to be mean but has been about 2 years and we could use the space. Plus she is doing other research now overseas so it isn't like she is using them.
