Bake-a-thon
After working on my paper yesterday, revising and editing I was bit of a crabby apple, but I went to my friends house. We had 4 of us female grad students from my program get together to help our friend bake cookies to send to friends/ family and to give to some lab people as holiday treats. We ended up baking for 5 hours! Yes 5! We made about 70 sugar cookies and frosted them, chocolate chip, easy fudge, jam thumb print cookies and peanut butter cookies covered in melted almond bark. Frosting was the most fun. I realized I am bad at making gingerbread like people. I attempted to make one, and I tried to make blue pants, it ended up looking like a diaper, so I went with it and added a baby tuft of hair, a face and a belly button. We also had bells, stockings, wreaths, christmas trees, palm trees, and stars. It was fun to do something different that wasn't science related but still talk hang out w/ department people.

Bake-a-thon sounds like fun! I keep trying to get a cookie exchange going at school...hasn't caught on yet.
