lots of little things

Today was one of those days where I had small stuff to do all day. I feel like I did not get enough done, but I was busy all the time. Answering questions, meeting w/ faculty, meeting w/ students, running a drug dose w/ my animals. I had a student who sent me 4 emails in about 10 minutes at 11PM last night and was then concerned when I did not reply right away. I do not make a habbit out of checking my mail that late, or I would get sidetracked. Besides, I replyed this morning, and shouldn't you wait for 24 hours before being concerned? I swear sometimes I think undergrads think all I do is check my email to answer their questions wait in my office for them to swing by. Bah!

I also am frustrated with the instructor of my course, again. In the syllabus it says there will be 4 tests, each worth 50 points. The first three all had 50 questions, for the final he wants to have 33 questions worth 1.51 points each. Does that make sense? Write more questions! I even sent him 10 extra ones to help out. Now if they miss a question they are getting penalized more for it, is that a fair way to stack the points? I don't really agree w/ this and told him so. He responded with well 50 points is 50 points and I already sent the questions to be photocopied. Besides the fact that it changes the point value, I think having only 33 short questions is a really poor example for a final exam, especially for this class. Double Bah!

On a positive note, E and I went to visit S and K who got engaged recently. K has almost my exact ring, which I thought was a little strange because they had already seen mine. But of course it isn't like mine is uncommon, however, if I saw someone elses I would be sure to pick out a least a different setting, or stone or something! I am really happy for them though, they are a wonderful match, and I know that the four of us will be life long friends! E and I lived w/ S in college so I am greatful that he found such a wonderful woman to spend his life with. We also got to see M and his girlfriend, whom we had not met before, but is really sweet. All 6 of us went to a brew your own pub where we made a scottish ale. They have to go back in two weeks to bottle and then E and I get our bottles around Christmas. It was a cold weekend, we took a walk to the polish bakery and by the time we got back my cheeks were so red and tingly they felt like when I was a kid and had been out in the snow too long.
