butterflies
It is the first day of the new semester and I have butterflies in my stomach. Yes- I have been in higher ed for 16 straight semesters, so you would think this would pass, but I am always jittery the first day. I also officially submitted my first paper today- yay! It isn't a top tier journal but it isn't a bad one either. Of course now the waiting game starts but I'm so happy to have it off my desk. I hope the reviews are good :) It is pretty straightforward. We trained the animals like this, then we did this.... this is what we found. My PI also told me that she is focused on getting out our other papers. (another first author for me, a first author for my lab mate, and two more which I will be on somewhere) Which is great news. It will help her w/ the whole tenure track game and help us too! It also means we have a lot of writing ahead of us.
Long term Work To do list:
1. Find more papers for project 2
2. Write paper draft for project 2
3. Write prospectus -UGH!
4. Keep collecting ROI data (project 1 part B) {the sequeal to what I just submitted}
5. Begin and run follow-up project 2 part B
6. Finish data analysis for last summer's work (project 3)
Short List for Me:
1. Finish planning wedding
2. Get married :)
3. Plan honeymoon, and TAKE IT
4. Continue to work out, maybe eat less....
