Lunch with friends does wonders
I had lunch today with two friends. They are grad students in my department but are in a widely different field in another program. I enjoy their company and am thankful to have them in my lives. If anyone really understands the demands, drama and crap that we put up with in school it is another grad student. I like that they just "get it" no extra explanations necessary. If I feel guilty about a bad meeting with the PI they are sympathetic and understanding. They make me feel better. E does well most of the time but sometime he just doesn't understand. It is good to have friends so that you can vent and then move forward.
(I had to stop writing this for a minute as this extremely loud whistling sound was screeching in the hallway. It was the autoclave, someone didn't shut the door tight thus large quantities of steam were filling the room, and screaming at high velocity, leaving water all over the floor. I turned it off and left a note...)
