Anniversary

It was our two year anniversary last weekend so we went to stay at a lake. Saturday we drove there and went out for thin crust pizza and I suggested we save half for breakfast the next day. Sunday we ate the left over pizza and then went on a about an 8 mile walk around part of the lake. Some of the trail went behind people's houses so it felt a little strange at first but it was fun to see some of the crazy opulence some people live with. An outside elevator? check. Perfect landscaping? check. Private dock? check. I couldn't imagine some of the mansions we saw were "second" residences but where so humongous! The lake was pretty and the air flow off of it kept us from getting too hot. We went out for an expensive dinner, which was really good, but the service was terrible.

I can't believe we have already been married for two years, it has gone so fast! I'm still really happy to have him in my life everyday. He supports my big decisions (like agreeing to move 1/2 way across the country for my post-doc w/ out a fuss) and does little things to let me know he still cares. Like buying me a jar of pepperonchini's out of the blue because he knows I love em!

I haven't been blogging too much because I felt like I wasn't making enough progress on my dissertation and nothing new was happening. But I have been collecting data, slowly, some every week, and so I feel hopeful for the first time in a long time. That I might actually collect the data I need and actually finish this damn thing, (someday)!
